(24) Contingent Liabilities and Commitments
At December 31, 2005, the Company concluded contracts for the delivery of long-term assets totaling SKK 370,000 thousand, which will be realized after the balance sheet date.In addition, the Board of Directors estimates that around another SKK 95,140 thousand are needed to ensure that the Company’s activities comply with the Water Act. This need is reflected in the Company’s long-term capital and operational plan.

On June 1, 2003, the Company concluded a contract with E.ON IS Slovakia, s.r.o., on purchasing of IT services. This contract may be terminated not earlier than on December 31, 2007. A detailed specification of services provided and their price are reviewed each year. The cost of these services in 2005 amounted to SKK 350,056 thousand. The costs for 2006 and 2007 according to the contract represent SKK 756,474 thousand. The invoiced amount though could be different to the contracted amount, though.
Other Possible Contingent Liabilities and Commitments
Many areas of Slovak tax law have not been sufficiently tested in practice, so there is some uncertainty as to how the tax authorities would apply them. The extent of this uncertainty cannot be quantified. It will be reduced only if legal precedents or official interpretations are available. The Company’s management is not aware of any circumstances that may give rise to a future material expense in this respect.
